Emily Schmidt, PT, DPT

Dr. Emily Schmidt grew up in Auburn, AL and moved to Birmingham for secondary education. She attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science and a minor in French, as well as a Doctorate in Physical Therapy with clinical experience in orthopedics and sports medicine. At UAB, Emily worked with faculty to design and conduct a research study which she has presented on a state and national level. She also served as the Executive Student Director of a UAB student-run pro bono PT clinic. Emily's clinical interests include neuromusculoskeletal spine and hip pathology, and she has extensive personal knowledge of and experience with dance kinesiology and injury, particularly regarding ballet. Emily is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association's Orthopaedics and Health Policy and Administration sections. Emily is also an active member of Christ Covenant in Buckhead. In her free time, Emily loves to watch Survivor with her husband and get outside with their goldendoodle.
