Mark Nilson, MPT

Education & Bio

Mark completed his undergraduate studies in exercise science at Rutgers University. While at Rutgers, he was a member of the university soccer team as well as the club lacrosse team. Mark also served as a student athletic trainer for the Rutgers baseball and football teams. He went on to complete his graduate studies in physical therapy at Georgia State University.

Mark has been the head coach for high school and club soccer teams and served as an assistant high school coach for volleyball and track teams. He has managed fitness clubs, directed swim programs and led several fundraising events to promote health. He has worked rehabilitating injuries of players on the Harwich Mariners team of the Cape Cod Baseball League. He has participated in many marathons (including multiple Boston finishes) and triathlons (ranging from sprint to Ironman distance). Mark received certifications including USA Triathlon coaching certification, US soccer coaching license, the NSCAA National Diploma, and several personal training certifications. Through his experiences as an athlete, coach and physical therapist, Mark understands the physical demands of an athlete as well as the biomechanics of different sports and athletics. He is able to adapt treatment plans according to the specific needs of the athlete.

Mark is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), the Physical Therapy Association of Georgia, and the Sports Physical Therapy Section of the APTA.
